AVILOO battery diagnostics now also TÜV AUSTRIA-certified.

The innovation of the start-up AVILOO assures consumers manufacturer independently the
battery State of Health, when buying a used e-car.

The developers of the AVILOO battery diagnostics for electric and plug-in hybrid cars meet the strict test criteria of TÜV AUSTRIA and receive the recognized technical certification after detailed tests. TÜV AUSTRIA thus underlines the competence of the innovative start-up and the technical functionality of AVILOO battery diagnostics.

It was always clear to the founding team of AVILOO, that an independent and thus comparable diagnostic method is essential for the purchase and sale of used e-cars. The State of Health of the traction battery is a decisive criteria for the residual value of electric cars. Kilometers driven and year of construction are not sufficient for the professional evaluation of e-cars, since battery technology, external conditions and usage behavior can also have a decisive influence on the health status of the battery of an e-car A battery diagnostic procedure for high-voltage batteries could therefore revolutionize the still weakening used car trade and thus also significantly supports the breakthrough of electromobility. A functioning used car market enables consumers to get started with the
technology at a lower price. This is an important fact if trust in electromobility is to grow among the general public and thus make a further contribution to decarbonisation. AVILOO recently celebrated its official market launch with well-known sales partners. For
example, the ÖAMTC offers its members the AVILOO battery diagnostics for sale at selected bases and the automotive parts wholesaler Birner GmbH sell it to workshops throughout Austria. In a pilot project at a total of six locations* in Salzburg, Lower Austria and Vienna, the Porsche Austria Organization is also evaluating a possible use of the AVILOO diagnostic

"For a rapid acceptance of our development, we were anxious to subject our battery diagnostic system to the strict test criteria of the TÜV AUSTRIA. The full-cycle test was subjected to extensive test points," says AVILOO-CTO DI Mayerhofer. "A valid management system certificate according to ISO 9001:2015 had to be presented. Likewise, the technical documentation of the hardware including necessary tests, as well as a declaration of conformity was made. The commissioning of the hardware based on the operating instructions, a process description of the test method used, as well as the implemented measures for protection against manipulation and the evaluation algorithm which is used to determine the state of health (SOH), were also subjected to the meticulous TÜV test. Finally, the contents of the certificate were set to correctness was tested and the sampling procedure was carried out by means of several test drives," says DI Mayrhofer, describing the test process, which lasted several weeks.

TÜV AUSTRIA Product Development Manager, Klaus Alberer, on the test process: “We have set the focus of the test on correct data collection, recording, evaluation and reproducibility of the results. The focus is always on safety and benefit for the customer. "
