AVILOO battery diagnostics for electric cars is also available via Birner
automotive and industrial supplies
From now on, the AVILOO battery diagnostics system for electric and plug-in hybrid cars is also
available for car dealers and workshops via Birner. By expanding the product portfolio with the
AVILOO battery test system, Birner E-Mobility is once again on the pulse of time. Following the
cooperation with ÖAMTC, AVILOO has now been able to open up another strong sales channel
for its innovative development.
Just recently, the Austrian startup AVILOO attracted attention by developing a manufacturer-independent
test procedure for Lithium batteries. AVILOO is the world's first and only provider
of a test procedure that enables a condition diagnosis of electric car batteries. With the help of
the AVILOO Box and the AVILOO Battery Cloud, the health status of the battery of electric cars
can be determined. This could revolutionize the currently rather weakening EV used car market.
The used car buyer no longer buys the proverbial "to buy a pig in a poke", but knows exactly about
the condition of the electric vehicle battery through the AVILOO certificate, which is handed out
after the test has been carried out. "An important fact when you consider that a renewal of the
traction battery can account for up to 50% of the vehicle value and that the usage behavior of
the previous owner has a strong influence on the battery condition," says AVILOO CTO Nikolaus
Birner GmbH is Austria's market leader among the local wholesalers for vehicle parts and
recognized the great potential around e-mobility at an early stage. Therefore, the company
offers its customers in this sector a complete range of products from special training for electric
vehicles to the right protective clothing and workshop equipment to advice on charging
technologies. The fact that the company has its finger on the pulse of the time is clearly shown
by the market figures. At the end of 2020, the pure electric vehicle fleet was around 44,500
vehicles, as of the end of April already at 52,954. New car sales in May also continue the rising
trend with 11,733 units. (*Source Market figures: purely BEV; excluding hybrid vehicles. Statistik Austria and BEÖ)
The AVILOO battery diagnostic system is sold via the Birner subsidiaries in Perchtoldsdorf, Graz,
Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Klagenfurt – thereby Birner covers the austrian market excellently.
Dealers and workshops have the choice between two usage variants - the AVILOO 4 YOU and
the AVILOO Plus Model. AVILOO 4 YOU entitles you to a one-time test of a used electric or plugin
hybrid vehicle at the price of € 180, - incl. VAT. The customer receives the
AVILOO Box, which he can easily connect to the OBD interface. Via the AVILOO test app, it starts
the battery diagnosis to be carried out. After completion of the test drive, he receives the
AVILOO certificate for the tested vehicle with valuable information on the actual health status of
the electric vehicle battery.
The AVILOO Plus model is a subscription system. Against payment of a small, monthly basic fee,
the dealer receives access to the test system, in which he can independently create vehicle tests.
The configuration of the AVILOO Box on the respective vehicle takes place automatically after
the vehicle has been technically registered. The basic fee includes the costs for the hardware,
access to the test system, support directly by AVILOO, as well as free "over the air" updates, so
that all necessary models are always available. With the subscription system, the test is billed
separately with the partner.
CEO DI Wolfgang Berger is satisfied with the sales partnership: "We are convinced that through
the cooperation with Birner, our system will quickly find its way into independent workshops and
dealerships and that we will thus make a decisive contribution to the revival of the used electric
car market." Franz Lettner, Managing Director of Birner KFZ- und Industriebedarf GmbH, said:
"The AVILOO test procedure fits perfectly into our Birner E-Mobility project. This project was
initiated by us with the objective of making workshops fit for the future. Thanks to the sales
partnership with AVILOO, we can now also offer our customers more transparency when
purchasing used electric cars."
