Étude B2B internationale d’AVILOO : l’indépendance comme nouvelle monnaie de la confiance

The used electric vehicle (EV) market is growing rapidly. Yet one question repeatedly stalls purchasing decisions: What is the actual condition of the battery? What can be clearly communicated for combustion engine vehicles through mileage and year of manufacture often remains opaque for electric cars. Battery condition is what determines range, resale value, and buyer trust.

A recent international B2B study by AVILOO shows: dealers who rely on manufacturer-independent battery certificates sell faster, achieve better prices, and build more sustainable customer trust.

What does the study specifically show?

The results are clear: 92.9% of surveyed companies cite greater transparency and increased buyer confidence as the most important reason for using independent battery certificates. At the same time, 93.4% are convinced that such a certificate directly enhances credibility in the sales process, and 88.8% explicitly emphasize the necessity of manufacturer-neutral diagnostic results.

One surveyed dealer put it this way: "A manufacturer-independent battery certificate creates objective clarity, increases trust, and strengthens our competence in sales — especially for older vehicles or those with higher mileage."

Why manufacturer independence is so decisive

Reading battery condition solely from the vehicle's own battery management system (BMS) yields values that are neither uniform nor comparable across manufacturers, and which are suspected of being subject to conflicts of interest. A genuine battery diagnostic such as the AVILOO FLASH Test goes further: as the only independent EV battery quick test, it delivers standardized, objective results regardless of brand and model.

Measurable effects in everyday dealership operations

The economic benefits are tangible: 46.2% of surveyed companies achieve higher selling prices, 44.0% report shorter time on the lot, and 74.7% test vehicles before purchase to proactively avoid complaints. One concrete example illustrates the difference: a Fiat 500e that had sat unsold on the forecourt for months found a buyer within four days after an AVILOO battery certificate was published.

Conclusion

Trust in the used electric vehicle market is not built through promises, but through traceable data.

AVILOO CEO Marcus Berger sums it up:

"We differ from all quick tests that merely read out BMS values. Our FLASH Test is a genuine, manufacturer-independent diagnostic — fast, transparent, and traceable. The fact that the market recognizes this difference confirms our direction."
